Hello. What is up? It’s been a minute since our last project reveal, but trust me, this one was worth the wait.

Check out the latest project I finished. Yet another wearable. This time a jumpsuit! I’m genuinely obsessed with how comfy and breezy this one turned out.

The whole process was a trust-the-process moment. From wondering if I have enough yarn to figuring out how long is too long, every stitch was an adventure. I almost frogged the entire bottom half when I got halfway, but I’m so glad I stuck with it!

I used a 4.00mm hook and this very cute Indophil mix appropriately named by the seller ‘Under the Sea’. I just bought 5 cakes of it, around half a kilo. The whole time I was wondering if it will be enough. Luckily it was! I’m a firm believer in the magic of a good colorway inspiring the entire project.

I’ve also decided to put two strips of garter, one at the back hem at the top and another around the waist. This little trick is essential for giving structure to an all-crochet piece.

I think it gave the bodice of the piece such a beautiful curve. I’ve also attached two sky blue colored buttons in the front which gives a nice cute detail. They really bring out the subtle pops of color in the yarn.

The main star of this piece, however, is the pattern on the pants part. It resembled scales and halfway through, I realized that putting this pattern altogether makes it seem like a mermaid design. The drape from the Indophil yarn really sold the watery, flowing look.

I settled on this length just below the knees. It’s the perfect compromise between playful shorts and flowy pants for that airy summer feel.

I’ve worked on this piece a lot on my crochet marathon live on Shopee. Feel free to check out the replays here and follow me for daily live! I also answer questions about yarn and crochet in there, so come hang out with me!

Hope you like it!
Lots of love!
