Tiny stitches, crochet dreams, and a beach breeze.
Sometimes, a project isn’t born from a plan—it’s born from a trip to the yarn aisle. While browsing at Daiso Philippines, I found these “Pink Mix” and “Pink White” cottonable skeins and just fell in love.
The colors were so cute and candy-like that I knew I had to turn them into something special.
I had a very specific vision in mind: an off-shoulder top where the off-shoulder part itself forms a giant bow across the front.
To bring this vision to life, I ended up hunting down about 10 of those tiny 25g Daiso skeins. Because I wanted the stitches to be incredibly tight and defined, I committed to a 2.00mm hook.
This wasn’t a “weekend project.” It was a slow, steady labor of love that lived in my bag for two months (February to April).
I worked on it between other designs, stitch by tiny stitch, waiting for the perfect moment to finally finish it.
The “cool” part of this top is the construction. I wanted the bow to be structural—not just a decoration, but the main feature of the silhouette
I started with the tube for the main body.
To give it structure, I added ‘back loop only’ ribbing at the top and bottom. This was crucial because the cotton fabric isn’t flowy or stretchy; the ribbing provides the “grip” needed to keep the top secure.
Then came the hardest part—the off-shoulder bow section.
If you think I got that bow right on the first try, think again! I actually frogged and re-attached the bow section 3 or 4 times.
When you’re working with a hook that small, every placement matters. I’d attach it, try it on, realize it didn’t “bow” correctly, and rip it all out to start again. It was frustrating, but I wanted that specific “knot” look to be perfect.
It wasn’t until I was looking at the finished piece that I realized something funny—it looks like the bow in my My Crocheted World logo! It wasn’t an intentional “brand” project, but I guess my subconscious just really loves a good bow.

Wearing it for the first time in Lobo, Batangas, on our beach trip, was the best reward for all those hours of work. It’s structured, it’s creative, and it’s a reminder that even a simple “cute” yarn find can turn into something technical and impressive if you’re willing to frog it until it’s right.
I hope you guys like it! Sorry I haven’t been posting regularly lately.
I have been a bit busy but please know I am still crafting and crocheting every moment I get! I hope you are too!
Feel free to check out my previous works as well 🩷 I also wore this blouse on our Batangas trip!
With love..
