When the 3rd block for the #MooglyCAL2026 was released, I was so hesitant.
I’m usually the type of maker who avoids modular projects. You know the ones—where you have to work on a dozen small parts and then join them all together at the end. I’ve tried it before, but usually, after making two or three pieces, I lose steam and the project ends up in the unfinished pile forever.
And don’t even get me started on weaving in ends! More parts = more ends. It’s a lot! If this wasn’t part of a CAL, I know for a fact I wouldn’t have picked up this pattern.
But that’s really the beauty of a Crochet Along, isn’t it? It pushes me out of my comfort zone. Just like the first two blocks, this one forced me to use techniques and stitches I rarely ever touch.
The Palette:
For this block, I played with different shades of yellow and a tiny bit of white Indophil yarn I had stashed from a previous project. For the border rounds, I used a light beige Indophil to tie it all together.

The final result looks just like a garden of different daisies, with the beige acting as the “soil” underneath. Don’t you think? It’s honestly so cute!

The Verdict:
Did I enjoy making it?
Actually, yes! I even made a fun transition video to document the process.Check it out:
Did this project finally change my mind about modular pieces?
Probably not, hehe. It’s a “me” problem! 🙄 But I will say, the best part of this pattern is the customization. Being able to mix and match colors to create your own “garden” is so satisfying.
I hope you like my Block #3!
